Officejet 150 Portable Multi-Function Printer Review
The World's First Mobile Multi-Function
Built to be a similar size to a gaming laptop, the HP
OfficeJet 150 Mobile All-in-One portable printer received much attention
when put on display for the first time in the exhibition today (9th
May 2012). Weighing in at just 3 kilograms and measuring 350mm x 171mm
x 90mm, this fairly expensive printer (US$399) is aimed at sales executives
and representatives who need a mobile printing and scanning facility
on the go.
The Officejet 150 all-in-one machine features a 2,100mAh lithium-ion
battery, allowing users to print up to 500 pages on a single charge.
Printing, scanning, and copying functions will be controlled by the
2.36 inch colour touch screen. In addition the device can print from
Windows Mobile, and Blackberry mobile devices via a Bluetooth 2.0 wireless
connection. Surprisingly however there is no way to print from an Apple
iPad or iPhone?
Due to the tiny size of the machine, the top paper tray can only hold
50 sheets. Another compromise is that to scan and print you have to
manually feed in a single sheet at a time.
The Officejet 150 has a decent print resolution of 600x600 black, and
4800x1200dpi colour. This should prove more than adequate for the purpose
it is designed for.
There is a USB 2.0 and PictBridge port, not to mention an SD card slot.
Unlike other portable printers currently on the market today, the HP
Officejet 150 will use standard cartridges. Printing costs per page
should be between $0.12 per (colour), and $0.05 for black; with print
speeds of between 3.5 to 5 pages per minute.
Accessories will soon be made available including a car charger, spare
batteries, and a carry case (expected to cost approximately $80).
We await UK prices and a release date. Further updates will be posted
at http://www.printercartridges.net/ including ink cartridge costs for
HP95 / HP98 (UK codes may be different).
On the face of it the HP Officejet 150 looks a nice piece of equipment,
but the purchase price will need to be reduced somewhat to become a
